Hurricane Preparation 

 

Prevention is key when it comes to preparing your vessel for a hurricane or storm. There are many things you can do to help protect your vessel from damage. 

It makes sense to have a plan to protect your vessel from storm surge and flooding, violent winds, heavy rains. 

 

Seal and secure the following:

Engine room vents

Windows 

Hatches

Charge your batteries

Clean & Clear holes in bilge pumps

Test all pumps

Test all switches

Clear your cockpit drains

Remove anything topside that is not permanently fasted
